ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENges My experience learning English at University started when I gave a test to evaluate my English level at the beginnign of the first year of Public Administration. At first, I was scared because my English classes in school were very basic and i thought that university would have a extremely high level, but for my surprise it wasn't like I expected.  I don't think that my English is good, but at least isn't that bad. I think that the use of blogs has helped me a lot to improve my English level since i started to write them. Now i know more words than at the beginning of the semester because i have used them in my blogs. However, I still have to study more because I  want to keep improving my English. I think that the aspect I have to study the most is reading because I want to study a postgraduate and most of the books I'll have to study are written in English. Outside the English class I try to improve my speaking talking with...

CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME For this blog I will talk about some changes that my study programme should have.  When i entered University, I thought that it were going to prepare me on the areas I'd like to work or i had interest in, but for my surprise it didn't happened that way. As students we have to course some subjects wich we don't need to work on the areas we would like to. Not everyone want to dedicate to the academy and work on investigations, just like not everyone want to memorize old theories about Public Administration. I'd like to put more elective subjects in the curriculum, from the first year till the last one. About the faculty facilities and use of technology i think that a lot of thing need to be fixed. Our library isn't prepared to receive 700 students because is so small. We just have one printer and 3 microwaves so it's nearly impossible to have lunch in the schedule that corresponds

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES I had never thougt to study a postgraduate before i entered the University because i saw it like something impossible to reach. But once i start my Major in Public Management i realized that the possibility wasn't as i expected to be.  Now that i know that study a postgraduate is something attainable i want to study a "Diplomado en Políticas de Vivienda y Ciudad: desafíos de la vivienda de interés social y de las políticas urbanas en Chile" At Universidad Católica de Chile. To be honest, i don't like this University that much but it is the only one that has this diplomat by now.  I want to study that postgraduate because when i was a kid a lived in a social housing called Laguna Verde 3 and i experienced all the flaws that the social housing in Chile have and i think that with people compromised with the common good it is possible to improve the quality of life of the people. I don't mind the way how will study it, b...

My future job For my future job i would like to work in something that give me the sensation that Im really being an input to society. I like to imagine it as something that makes me happy and motivated to keep working, as far away from the routine as possible.  I'd like it to be between outdoor and indoor, because i prefer to work on field than inside an office but sometimes the work has to be done in a peacefull place. I'd like to travel a lot too, because travel anywhere away from the routine is always good for health. About the money, i dont really mean that i want to have a fortune, but i want an amount that guarantee that i can do whatever i want without  saving money for a thousand years. I'm studying Public Management because i think that with that major i can work in something like the kind of job that i described in the first paragraph. But Public Management wasn't my dream career at first, when i was a child my dream was to be a garba...

STUDYING PUBLIC MANAGEMENT I study Public Management in Universidad de Chile. I took this decision because i grew up in Iquique, watching how the politicians, or the people that work at the local goverment did't do almost anything about the maintenance of the city. My main motivation to study Public Management was learn how to do the job that the people that was supposedly working to make Iquique a greater city didn't do. I realized that i wanted to be a certified Public Manager because it was the only way to acquire the knowledge i needed to work on the local administration of my city. Before i entered to university, i didn't knew many thing about Public Management but that they work for the state. Universidad de Chile was my only option, because i was told by my teachers that it was the best university of the country, so i wanted the entered here. I considered enter to Universidad de Concepción, but the most similar career they had at that time was Political Scie...

The best concert ever (at least for me) In my life i have been in a lot of concerts since i were a child because my parents love music and I inherited that quality. But the concerts i like the most are the ones that i can dance. There was a concert of "Chico Trujillo" in Iquique on 2016 that was placed in the beach and it was the best concert i have ever seen.  "Chico Trujillo" is a cumbia band from Villa Alemana, Chile. They are known for their great music perfect for dance between friends, in parties or anywhere.  The band was conformed in 1999 by the members of another band called "La Floripondio" in the middle of a tour iof the band in Europe. The atmosphere during the event was amazing, everyone was dancing and drinking melon with white wine. The concert was located in the middle of Playa Brava beach, so my friend and I were swimming before the band started to play. Everything was incredible, the sunset, the band and the w...

A COUNTRY I'D LIKE TO VISIT I had always wanted to travel to Europe, to learn about history in the continent that most of important revolutions have happened. France is located in the middle of Europe, so i'd like to visit it because from there i can go any other place with less effort, or at least that is what i think.          As i said before, France is located in the middle of Europe, in the middle west actually. I had never been there, so i dont know much about the country, but i know that France have played an important rol in human history, specifically cause the french revolution settled down the background for the modern democracies.   When i get there,I'd like to visit museums and art gallerys, The Arc de Trimphe ,  but mostly, i want to visit the Eiffel Tower. I'd like to try some coffes there and watch movies, with captions, obviously, because i dont know any word of French. I dont know if i'd...
